We have several goodies for you to enjoy at our Friday tasting!
Sometimes it is so easy for us to have so much fun exploring new, small-production wines that we forget about the more well-known brands. We will explore California’s Bogle Chardonnay this Friday with our dry white wine lovers. Here is what the Bogle Family has to say about its wine: “Generous aromas of fruit and toasty oak entice the senses as you first encounter this Chardonnay. Green apples and juicy pears give way to elegant hints of lemon meringue, and finish ripe and refreshing on the palate. Created by aging on the lees, the rich and velvety mouthfeel adds complexity to the fruit, allowing the flavors to sink softly into toasty notes of American oak. The finish, lingering and graceful, is coupled by a mouthwatering acidity that creates a longing for just one more sip….” Come taste with us and see if you agree!
We are opening the Zestos Old Vine Garnacha from Spain for our red wine lovers. This highly-rated Garnacha (Grenache) is an incredible value, and we love what our buddy Robert Parker had to say about it: “A staggering value, Patrick Mata brings in 10,000 cases of the 2011 Zestos Garnacha Old Vines, which was vinified in a combination of stainless steel and cement tanks. Made from old vine (over 40 years of age), high altitude (2800 feet) Grenache, this head-pruned vineyard planted on granite soils has produced an unbelievable wine for the price. Lots of kirsch, strawberry, black currant and licorice aromas jump from the glass of this medium-bodied, richly fruity, surprisingly intense red. Drink this pure, sexy effort over the next 1-2 years.” Well said, and a great little wine.
We have a brand new small-production Moscato for our sweet wine lovers this Friday. Come by and see what we unveil!
Please join us Friday night, February 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. to enjoy these wines and chat with our staff! We look forward to seeing you.
