There Was No Swimming Allowed in the Fermenting Tanks….
But we did stick our fingers in. This week we made a pilgrimage to Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY. Touted by the London Telegraph as the world’s best distillery this place is a landmark bourbon producer in the United States. Our goal was to pick out this year’s new single barrel Eagle Rare and Buffalo Trace for the shop. It’s always fascinating to witness the Bourbon making process firsthand. We certainly learned a lot while having a great time. Look for the new releases from Buffalo Trace on the shelf in the coming weeks.
Friday’s Wines Are Always Fine
Bogle is consistently good wine year after year. It’s price is friendly and folks love it. Tomorrow night we are featuring the Essential Red Blend. This Syrah and Zinfandel blend will not disappoint your mouth or your wallet. Lion’s Lair is a Rhone style blend from South Africa. This wine is a nice expression from a country known for wines that are out of sight! Again, this is a good value. Casteggio is always a favorite at tastings. We love the sweet light sparkle. It’s nice for celebrations, dessert pairings or just hanging out on the porch.
