Featured Wine: Robert Mondavi
If you like oak, wine and Bourbon in no particular order, Bourbon barrel aged wine is something to try. Adding extra aging in the wine making process certainly does nothing to lessen wine. Wines that are finished in used Bourbon barrels exhibit interesting fruit and loads of wood as you would expect. Southern Belle and Poor Thing are old vines Spanish wines that have been finished in used Bourbon Barrels. These elegant wines continue to be some of our favorite in the shop. The latest offerings of Bourbon barrel aged wine are pleasing on the pallette and in the wallet. Apothic Red Inferno is a rich, spicy, vanilla version new this year. We enjoy this year’s Robert Mondavi Private Selection Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a solid wine to sip by the fire this Fall. Get it while it lasts.

All Delicious and all 15% off. The yummy Trebbiano from Umbria made from Organic grapes is a stunner at under $10.00. Raspberry wine from Tennessee’s own Stonehaus Winery and a big old Aussie red round out the group. Check out the 2012 Thorn. It’s drinking like the gem that it is.
Staff Spotlight
The guy in the middle might look familiar to some of you. Although, you may not have see him around the shop lately. Deron has been rehearsing for his most recent role of Sweeney Todd, the demon barber of Fleet Street from Stephen Sondheim, known for his West Side Story. Deron recently landed the starring role in the Robertson County Players Production. The show opened last night and it was quite a ride. The dark comedy kept me on the edge of my seat all evening. Deron brings the demented and downtrodden Barber, Sweeney Todd alive in a way that is captivating and equally chilling, perfect for the Halloween season. Deron recently starred as Mr. Banks in Mary Poppins with the Hendersonville Performing Arts Center where he brought stodgy, old Banks to life.
We are proud of his continued hard work and dedication to entertain the masses in middle Tennessee. Run up to Springfield and catch the show before it closes on the 27th. We recommend grabbing a cocktail and duck quesadillas at The Depot and checking out the square. Tickets are on sale at the door at the Springfield High School. Deron also has tickets for sale at the shop. He is in on Tuesday evening.
