From the Garage
Making wine in your garage could be pretty questionable unless you are Ed Flaherty. In that case, you have a history working with some of Chile’s best wineries, a degree from U.C. Davis and a garage in Chile. Oh, and you have access to some of the best grapes in Chile’s prestigious Manzur Econ Valley. Ed and Jen Hoover make a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah blend each year in their garage in Chile’s Aconcagua Valley . There is simply not a lot of this wine around. And, we think it is fantastic. (Robert Parker does too as he has given it 90+ for several years running, including this current vintage) The wine sees eighteen months in a combination of American, French and Romanian Oak. If you like unique South American red wine, we’re pretty certain you will appreciate Flaherty which is a blend of 64% Syrah, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec, 6% Tempranillo and 4% Petit Syrah.
