Exclusive, Elegant Ehlers Petit Verdot
A Summer Surprise in Time for the Fourth!
Call it luck or good fortune. Whatever it is we are thrilled about the special delivery at the shop just in time for the 4th of July! We were able to secure some Ehlers Rose, as well as the highly coveted Petit Verdot. Why is this so special? The Market Basket is the only store in Tennessee to boast these two wines in our collection. Yes, we somehow talked them into sending these wines all the way to Lebanon! The color is gorgeous and that is just the beginning of this Summer surprise of a rose’. It has the crispness that you want in a rose, with the body and structure that you don’t find in other rose’s. It is very unusual to find a wine that is 100% Petit Verdot and we are pleased that we have a few bottles to offer. Ehlers Petit Verdot is sourced from one acre in the entire estate yielding a 210 case production.
All Ehlers wines are Certified Organic and Biodynamic wines made from premium grapes that are cared for from start to finish by just seven pairs of hands. As we near the Fourth of July, Bastille Day is just around the corner. And on July 14th France celebrates their own freedom. Ehlers, one of the oldest estates in Napa has some French roots as the founders, Jean and Sylviane LeDucq hail from there. At their bequest 100% of the proceeds from the winery fund collaborative cardiovascular research between the US and Europe. Last year Vanderbilt received 2 Million dollars from the LeDucq Foundation named after the founders of the winery. There is a fantastic story about how this winery came to be that can be found in the Ehlers website.
HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY! GOD BLESS AMERICA! Remember we will be closed all day on the Fourth!
