God bless America
Prior to the Revolution colonists enjoyed Caribbean imports – rum and molasses. The molasses based small beer was about 2% – 4% alcohol. It was just enough to hydrate without overpowering a person. Once the revolution started folks moved to cider made out of pressed apples or peaches that were later fermented. There were stabs at making wine after the British blockaded ports but they mostly failed. Some early Americans like Thomas Jefferson enjoyed Madeira wine after longs days pouring over letters and documents. George Washington was making 11,000 gallons a year of whisky at Mt. Vernon in 1799. Washington made whiskey to boost the American economy and to gain independence from British imports. Thus if you love America, you will drink whiskey this Fourth Of July! Eagle Rare is a perfect patriotic spirit. It is a 90 proof 10 year aged single barrel whiskey that delivers what it promises. We selected this one at Buffalo Trace Distillery in the Spring. We like it a lot and we hope you do too.
Happy Fourth of July! We are closed tomorrow. Stock up today!
This is a special wine for Summer. Winemakers at Domaine de Terrebrune pride themselves on patience, passion and ecology. Great care is taken with the grapes that go into the wine from start to finish. Hand planted vines never see chemical weed killers. The Mediterranean climate in Provence allows the grapes to ripen gently and progressively. In addition grapes are hand selected and harvested. And this premium rose’ can even age if you wish. Enjoy a bottle for a special dinner. It is a good match for most complex dishes. 60% Mourvedre, 20% Grenache, 20% Cinsault
