Grenache is a versatile grape that can bring many interesting characteristics to a wine. Some of our favorite wines at the shop have Grenache in them from a value Cote du Rhone to Orin Swift D66. Opening up a new Grenache is always interesting because you just don’t know what you might find. We recently had the opportunity to purchase a Grenache from prestigious Two Hands Winery in the Barossa Valley of Australia where the Grenache vines are sixty plus years old. We found that the bold flavors of stewed plums and berry jams played well together. The 2004 Yesterday’s Hero is earthy and woodsy. If you enjoy your wine with some maturity this is the wine for you. It will pair well with many dishes such as roast beef and roasted chicken. Enjoy it now for a fraction of the it’s original price!
